Fifteen years ago, in the middle of the night, I drove Tess to a friends house, then I drove myself to the Emergency Room, where I was told I had walking pneumonia and bronchitis, along with the asthma attack I was having, and if I continued to smoke, I would be breathing like that on a daily basis in about 10 years.
I quit the next day. I had been smoking for 12 years. I grew up with it. It was always around, and though I spent a lot of time "closet smoking", I never imagined I would be a non-smoker. Six weeks after I had quit, my mom came for a weekend visit. We had a couple of Wine Coolers, and she lit up. I wanted one soooo bad. So I did. Then immediately after, I had another. I spent the next hour and a half in the bathroom vomiting. Weird, huh? I guess I really WAS supposed to quit smoking. The smell of them now makes me nauseous.
I mention this because I really had a total sugar binge Monday. Not a carb binge, but sugar. Then I spent the entire evening nauseous. I didn't actually vomit, but I felt terrible all night long. I really do think the lack of nutritional food, and the extreme sugar, made me sick at my stomach. All I could think about was that night I spent vomiting after smoking those cigarettes, then wondering if now the thought of M&M'S will make me nauseous.
Gosh, I hope so!
Okay, I will at least think about it real hard the next time I go for more than a handful.
I didn't have a great food day, and I still haven't purchased my "Outside the Box" grocery item.
I didn't eat anything fabulous that's really worth sharing, so I won't.
I did however, have a great evening with a girlfriend venting about anything that bugged me the last couple of days and she listened. (Like she had a choice.)
We did a little shopping.....and I bought this because it totally made my day!
I plan on the Trick or Treaters enjoying it when they come to my door.
