I feel as though I went from being completely "In The Zone" to......
"What's a Zone?"
I feel like the change happened over night......FOUR WEEKS AGO!
The last four weeks have been........anything but balanced, that's for certain. I keep thinking of ways to move forward, then not making the changes necessary.
It's so hard sometimes to do the things that make me feel so good, and so easy sometimes.....(Hell, who am I kidding?)......easy ALL THE TIME to do the things that make me feel so bad? When I do the hard thing, I feel great both physically and mentally. When I do the easy thing, I feel like sh*t. All over!
The hard thing?.......Taking the time to plan.....(meals, exercise time, grocery shopping)......then following through.
The easy thing? Doing whatever comes to my brain first, then without even thinking about the consequences, following through.
I haven't really done HORRIBLE.....but I haven't been quite as strict, and I will only make progress if I get back to the basics. I weighed this morning. I really FEARED 170 after our long weekend trip, but I was pleased to see 168, so I'm only up 3 pounds.
So it's time to buckle down and get back "In The Zone".
A little bad news.......I have been instructed by the Physical Therapy Team that taking a break from Bootcamp is highly recommended until my shoulder and neck are much improved. I was having to modify so much at Bootcamp, I really wasn't benefitting anyway. :(
I will focus on my physical therapy exercises and cardio, and get back to work!
Side note........
I had a dream Tuesday night that Mike and I had a glass house, and I was showering, and I forgot to pull the privacy curtains (I was aware that we had them). Our neighbors next door (the actual older couple that love next door!), called to complain because it was such a hideous sight!!! Ouch.
You think my subconscious is talking to me???
(Oh.....I dream really, really weird)

I met Mike for lunch and we went to a Pub by his work for Taco Tuesday. I ordered two. We rarely do lunch dates and I was so excited to see him in the middle of the day, I forgot to take a picture! Lunch for the two of us was EIGHT BUCKS! Who doesn't love a Taco Tuesday???

Olive oil, Italian Seasoning, Salt and Pepper......
Along with some Skillet Tilapia.....
I drizzled just a little melted butter on the tilapia right before I took it out of the skillet! Yummmmmmmm

"love the life you live, live the life you love"
I am hooked hard on roasted butternut squash right now. I will eat it with every meal! I really need to add in some b. sprouts, I love those too!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about taking the "easy way" I do get tired of the thinking, planning and scheduling and grocery shopping blah blah. I'm tired of the comments of "Do you ever eat? What can you eat? You are too skinny. You run too much. You will gain it back if you stop. You need to eat. You are wasting away." I have to admit that I am tired of the attention. Where were these helpful people whenmy weight got up to over 200 lbs? Why didnt anybody want to help me then? Oh well, we just have to stay on track and be smart!
I need to add the butternut squash to the mix. It is so HARD to cut up! Maybe a new knife? I am sorry the comments are getting old. You need to just tell people you are at a healthy weight and that you've never felt better!
DeleteHave a great day, Libby! Thanks again for your comments!
It sounds like you have had a great time!! Congratulations for staying in the 160s through it all!! You really do have maintenance down pat. When you do make it to goal it doesn't seem like you are going to have any trouble maintaining it.
ReplyDeleteI predict that one of these days you will wake up and know in your heart of hearts that it is time to commit to losing this last 15 -18 pounds and you will buckle down and get it done. It's like a switch that gets flipped in our minds and we know this is what we have to do. You already know you feel better when you do the healthy things. Your mind just has to rule the body. Have you read, "Switch - How to Change When Change is Hard," by Chip and Dan Heath? It's a great book and it talks about how you have to get both the rider (your intellectual self) and the elephant (your emotional self) engaged in order to change something. If your elephant is not engaged, the rider can control it for only so long. Then the rider gets tired and stops steering, and the elephant takes over. It makes a lot of sense.
Have a great day Julie! I hope you recover from your injuries soon. You should talk to the Boot Camp people about taking a month off, and extending your membership for a month, since you can't exercise due to injury. It would be a shame to lose that investment you've made in yourself. I'd be surprised if they didn't work with you on that.
I will look for that at the library today. I certainly need a little boost in the motivation department!
DeleteBootcamp did say that they would totally work with me! Yay!
