Wine Tasting, But Without the Tasting!!

Yip. That's exactly what happened.

Our plans for the day included a trip with two other couples to a wine tasting. We made theses plans quite a while back, and I had decided to still go along, and watch. Plus, when I got on the scale on Sunday morning, I was VERY happy with the results, and I really don't want anything to get in the way of next Friday's results! If THIS week backfires on me, I'm going to have a nervous breakdown!

Mike's tasting glass.......along with a few Parmesan Crisp!

I had water and a nice cold can of Diet Coke, thanks to Paul, the bartender.

I had over thought and over thought the afternoon before leaving the house. While Mike and I were getting ready, I said to him.....

"Okay, I need to just get this off my chest, and I need for you to just listen, and then when I'm done, tell me what you think I should do."

Mike...."Okay." (He's a man of few words really.)

Me....."I know I am over-thinking this, but we have had these plans for a long time, and I don't anyone to feel uncomfortable with me not participating, and I don't want to feel weird walking into a wine tasting place, then say, none for me, thanks, then look like a complete idiot! I know just tasting a couple of wines isn't going to mess up my weight loss, but it's just kind of the whole principle of the thing that I said I wouldn't drink. I don't know what to do. What do you think I should do?"

Mike...."well, what EXACTLY did you say about drinking?"

Me..."I said I wouldn't have any alcohol."

Mike...."Then don't drink."

Me..."Okay. Thanks."

Seriously, sometimes I exhaust my self over thinking the simplest things!

We went to this great little place in the West Bottoms of Kansas City called Amigoni Urban Winery. Check out their website HERE.

You can do a tasting of five wines for $5, OR, if wine isn't your thing, a tasting of Boulevard Brewery beers for $7, then make a purchase if you choose, and sit in one of the many, cute little sitting area's and have a drink with your friends!

We were there for quite awhile and I would go back for sure (and participate), and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a little something different to do. Paul, our bartender was kind enough to suggest to us a place for dinner after our tasting, so we took him up on it and headed to Westport to eat at Port Fonda......

....... A great little Mexican Restaurant where I enjoyed Chips and Guacamole....

One Pork Taco and One Shrimp Taco......

Yummy and Fresh!

All rinsed down with a Diet Coke with a Lime Twist!
