Walking Club is Going Strong!

All original members are still participating, which really makes me happy. (Two humans, one dog). I do hate getting up at 5:30 in the morning (unless it means we're catching a flight to go on vacation), but I really love that feeling of having my exercise out of the way before 7:00 am. It just makes the entire day feel positive and productive and good.

Today's Best Body Bootcamp involves cardio and core. I am counting my morning walk as my cardio and hopefully I can make it through the scissor kicks and crunches without the dogs licking my face like last time.

Again, I found myself at Starbucks while I wait on my car at the dealership. I bought tires just a few days ago, and I knew when I left the dealership there was something I was forgetting to have them look at. The next day, my brakes squeaked EVERY time I applied them. I just kept looking around at other people like THEIR brakes were squeaking!

(Which reminds me of another story. I had a car that the horn would randomly start honking while I was driving down the street. The worst part was when this happened at a red light. I just looked around like everyone else was doing......with that look on my face that said....."WHO IN THE HECK IS HONKING??" This went on for longer than I would like to admit. I finally sold it. Nobody could determine the cause of the random honking. I failed to share that information with the young sweet couple that bought the car from us. Seriously......the guilt is killing me.)

Back to the present. I called the dealership to schedule yet another appointment. That's okay, just another reason to enjoy a cup of coffee and people watch and eavesdrop. Turns out, my brakes were just a little dusty, so they cleaned them up for FREE! Wonder if they would dust my house for free??? Oh.....AND.....while I am sitting at Starbucks Blogging away......John (my guy at the Dealership), drove my car to Starbucks and walked my keys in to me!

I THINK IT'S GOING TO BE AN AWESOME DAY!

While having coffee, and blogging, I learned that the guy sitting beside me, Jim, retired a year ago and comes here every morning for coffee (he is also eating Girl Scout Cookies) and to read the paper. I love that a few people still like to read the paper! Then he goes to the community center Monday through Friday to exercise, then to the library (the one over here is HUGE and very nice) to check out a book. He also likes gardening.

One of the employees here, Carla, is getting married next week, and everyone, but me, already knew about it. Even Jim knew!

Jim still had one cookie left when I took this picture of my cup from home, filled with a Grande Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte, and my Luna bar.

When I left Starbucks, I debated several different things I could do. Gift shop for my daughters birthday, get a pedicure, go to work (it's VERY flexible and only 3 or 4 hours), enjoy the light rain and somewhat Fall like morning....I think it's 65 degrees......and drive to Louisburg, Kansas for my annual jar's of Apple Butter and Pumpkin Butter....and a donut? So I cranked up some Country music and headed down the highway. I am SO ready for Fall.

They really make the Cider in that barn!

So cute and cozy.....

You wanna go with me next time?

My favorite wall......the Butters.......

Lots of cider, but I passed on that today.......

My TWO favorites! Pumpkin and Apple.

You are not allowed to leave unless you buy a fresh donut.....so I did.

I proudly only ate half, and tossed the other half out the window to a lucky raccoon, or possum, or crow? Oops. Is that bad for them?
1/2 Cake Donut = 3 PPV (I gotta get some serious veggies in today!)

While browsing Pinterest this morning, I came across this recipe for a Quinoa Black Bean Burrito Bowl.

Since I have been experimenting with Quinoa lately, and had a bunch of it ready to go, I threw together this quick little lunch bowl.

1/2 C cooked Quinoa
1/4 C corn
1/4 C black beans
Pepper Jack Cheese
1/8 avocado
A little taco seasoning
Salsa

I mixed it all up and dug in. Three bites in, I thought, I bet if I put this in the microwave for just a bit, it would really be delicious! So I did, and it WAS!

When you get out of bed at 5:30 am, you can get a LOT done. Mike is going back to his sisters to finish the fence job he started on Sunday, so I have from 5:30 am until around 9:00 pm by myself today. With all of the things marked off of my "to do list", and only having to work a few hours today, I decided I should relax this evening in the Movie Theatre! I have been wanting to see the Meryl Streep/Tommy Lee Jones movie, Hope Springs, and Mike didn't seem real excited about it, so I went alone. I love to go to the movies by myself. Some people get it, others think its weird. The only time it kinda sucked, was when I decided to see a comedy by myself. Not a real great idea. Each time I laughed out loud, there was nobody to laugh with, and when I looked at the people beside me to laugh with, and they didn't look back at me, it WAS weird, so I have decided the best movies to see alone are dramas or romantic comedies, because really, I don't like anybody to watch me cry, and I cry a lot when I watch movies. I loved the movie. It was exactly what I was in the mood for.

One more meal out of my stuffed chicken.......and a Caesar Salad.

  3. You should! I guess the thing that I like most, is that there are no rules. You can blog as frequent, or as infrequent as you like. My blog slowly became my journal. You could do something weekly? You should ponder it for sure! :)
