I wouldn't say "Hot Mess"........

........but today I am kind of a Mess, and when I went outside to walk the dogs, I got hot.

My original Title for today's blog was...

"Reading the phone book could be more interesting than today's blog....."

But after I started typing away, I realized I was kind of a mess.

Today was pretty blahbitty blahbitty blahbitty blah to start.

It started out great with a 30 minute walk with.....

.........The Walking Club.......then a 20 minute walk/run.

Breakfast......waffles with Peanut Butter and sliced bananas.

(Pretty sure I have that carb craving thing I get after a weekend of beer drinking. One more day of drinking allowed in August, my daughters 21st birthday, then NO MORE until that scale reads 150 pounds!)

Later I had a cereal bar. I do not know why I even bought them. Total trigger food for me. We had someone stay here over the weekend and I know I stocked the fridge and pantry with things I thought she would like, knowing I would probably binge on them later. Later in the morning, I fixed some coffee, and had another cereal bar. Then I had some cookie butter on some pretzels, and a bag of Baked Lays. Not because they sounded good together, but because they were the first carb thing I saw when I opened the pantry door. Then I re-arranged the pantry so the carb crap is on the bottom shelf where it should be!!!

Then I decided to make something healthy with Quinoa, since I had bought a very large bag of it a while back at Costco, and haven't even opened it. I googled some recipes, and settled on.......

Not a salad, not a veggie dish, not a soup.......nope.

Peanut Butter Quinoa Cookies. Gross, huh? Yip. Did I mention the carb cravings?

Well, here they are....The texture is just weird. I think if I make them again, likely not, I would press them into flatter cookies and bake them longer so they are crisp. It's more protein bar like? And soft. 2 PPV.

If you think you might like them, give them a try! These have raisins, but I'm thinking Chocolate Chips!!! (Damn you, sweet tooth!)

Quinoa Cookies

I cooked a large amount of Quinoa, as suggested on other blogger's blogs, so this week I will cook something delicious and healthy with it.

So......I left the house.....this usually helps when I'm on a binge.

I planned Taco Salad for dinner, but Mike made plans at the last minute, and who wants to cook for one?

I peeked in the freezer....Edamame? It's been in there a while. I cooked up the bag, salted them just a bit, and sprinkled a little Parmesan cheese. Not too shabby. 2 PPV.

The water was even difficult for me to get in today!! And I'm kinda cranky! Put a bunch of sh*t in your body, and that's how you feel. You really ARE what you EAT!

Look at all of the life lessons I'm learning!!

OH! AND? I am totally sucking at my online Best Body Bootcamp.

If I'm not being honest, then I'm not doing anybody, including myself, any good at all.

This has been a reality check.

Wednesday?

1. Bootcamp
2. Eat only 26 PPV of good, quality food. Photo and blog it all.
3. Drink 12 glasses of water.
4. Smile

  1. I'm sorry you are having a rough recovery from your weekend, but it sounds like you had a great time. It's good that you are putting your blahs together with the fact that you drank this weekend. They do go hand and hand. I wonder, if looking back on the weekend, if you couldn't have had just as much fun without having a single beer...then you wouldn't have this awful recovery to go through.

I get it though, it is fun to drink...choices, choices, choices...

You'll get through this! I'm here for you...thinking about that 5k you're running in. Tell me more about it. I'm sure we could keep pace with each other!

  2. Well, the 5K is August 26th. It's Head for the Cure. I will have to check again, but I think it's run in the Corporate Woods area? You would Kick My Ass! But if you want to do it together, I'm game! Registration was $25. Seriously, I have been running on the treadmill with zero incline, so really not prepared, but decided to give it a go! Let me know!

    1. We have a baby shower that afternoon, but I am sure the race is in the morning and will be over in plenty of time. Races are fun and I have no need to go very fast. I think it would be fun to do it together. Let me check my calendar at home and I will let you know for sure!

    2. OK, I'm in. I can't register on line so I have to register as Ward Parkway on Saturday. It'll be fun. Let's talk before then. Might be easiest to meet somewhere and drive one car to the actual race. Fun!
